Harmon Kardon AVR171S/230 and HS350

Hi all, have these two Hi Fi amps in at the moment, both with the same fault. Both have distorted output on all channels, main and surrounds, but neither amp is going into protect mode. The audio is just very weak and distorted. I haven't come across anything like this before, maybe someone can share some knowledge on them.
