Has anyone disassembled an IR189USB fluke cable?

I bought a Fluke 289 FVF kit, but the USB came with problem, I return my kit to store, they sent me a new kit, again same problem, only works with IR3000FC, finally I discovery, if I put the connector with 5 mm clearance between meter, it works, I put a dark plastic film inside the connector on IR LED and works too, I showed this to Fluke, they sent me new USB cable and it works finally. I think if I unassembly the connector and change the IR LED resistor it can works normally, but I don't want  damage the connector case.

But for the transmission problems  i think thre was an issue with the comparator used vs the voltages references, something like this

For dismantling the case, i would use an brand new xacto blade and slowly make a way between the 2 case parts
