Help finding compatible/equivalent LCD Display (original no longer manufactured)

Hi people, I'm new to the forum, hope this is the right place for this and hope y'all doing fine these days  .

I got a Line 6 POD XT Live (second handed) guitar effects unit with a broken screen  hoping to be able to find a replacement and fixing it myself .





I contacted fullcompass.com, which as far as I know is the one who distributes replacement parts for these units, here is the link: https://www.fullcompass.com/prod/212052-line-6-50-02-0240-lcd-assembly-spider-jam-and-xt-live , and they told me that the screen is no longer in production, that it stopped being manufactured some of years ago  , it is an old device, I know, their advice was to get another unit as a parts donor, which is sort of besides the point because I'm on a budget and I got this as a cheap project hoping to fix it (if possible)  , everything works besides the screen, I even got it without the power supply and made one myself using an AC transformer  , it is recognized by the computer and it is possible to program it from the pc but I'd like to replace the broken display.

Somebody told me that Line 6 probably didn't design this LCD screen to manufacture particularly for this device because that would have been too expensive, but instead probably used an existing one  . So, since the 'original' display can no longer be purchased, how can I find a compatible/equivalent unit (if possible)? That looks like a bog standard HD44780 compatible LCD, you can get those in various sizes for a few dollars. Do you know the character count? 16*2 and 20*2 lines are common sizes.

Not sure about that, this is how an operational screen looks, it appears to have more characters than these standard HD44780 16*2 or 20*2 ones

The New Haven display is 122x32 pixels, the pins don't seem to match (although I think it wouldn't be hard to make jumpers) and yes, both have 20 pins. So since there is no apparent way to tell which IC the original display uses, would it then be a matter of trial and error?

Haha, yeah those are graphics of course, I wrote that because since I got it with the display broken, until now I realize it can display graphics, didn't know that.

You are correct, a second look reveals the New Haven display is flipped 180 degrees.

The LCD itself may well be the same and it may work if you're willing to take a chance. Disassemble both displays, replacing the defective display with the new partRemoved from the New Haven display.

There are no guarantees but you don’t have many options.

There is a part number on it, the OPT00195CFAW-P.

I do not know if the -N will work in the place of an -P.  The people who would are the manufacturer:

As for substitutes, sometimes things can be substituted, other times there is some proprietary or one-off setup that just makes it impossible.  It is possible that the -P and -N are just the color of the backlight.  That would be your best-case scenario.

From the picture, it is more like 192x64 resolution. This could be a right fit from Topway Display https://www.topwaydisplay.com/product/mono/LM6072ABY . They have quite some sthx64 models.

Besides screen resolution, LCD controller is another important factor. You have to use a LCM with compatible or identical controller IC.
