Help identify the pin out or datasheet for this IC
« on: February 10, 2024, 03:45:25 pm »
wt7579 is an ic in power supply for pwm
This version is 20 pin . I only found the data for the 8 pin and 14 pin and 18 pin versions
The pin out for the 20 pin version is different . I know that because I managed to trace some pins of the ic on the board and identified them . And it's not like the datasheet
I also don't have an oscilloscope to test .
If Thier is some trek to know if the ic working or not without an oscilloscope would be helpful
The issue is the power turn on without shorting the pson pin to ground

Yeah that not the right pinout because I traced some pins on the board going to the main board

..it looks like that you have pulled out almost all via hole metallisations of your main board during disassembly

Hey,

newly registered here.

I have a "be quiet! Straight Power 11 850W 80+ Gold" PSU that has the WT7579 supervisor chip in it, and the PSU doesn't turn on. Since we don't have the schematics/pinout for the chip, we can't tell if that chip is faulty, but things seem to work until it.

Weltrend (the manufacturer) doesn't have any information about it, one can only find references tot he chip on websites that are reporting about the PSUs utilizing it.

Does anyone have a pinout/schematics for the 18-pin variant?

Cheers

Hey,

thanks for the quick response.

We're mistaken, the chip has 20 pins. Since the information for it is already posted here, we'll see if it helps :)

As a side note, I did some extensive search on the chip and the only place that has any pinout of it is this forum.

I reached out to the manufacturer in Taiwan for help but doubt they will be helpful.

Hi I found the equivalent ic's
Wt7527 dip-16 2 channel for the 12V
Ps223 dip-16 also 2 channel
Sg6521 dip-16 also 2 channel
All of them support OTP for the NTC on the heat think
I find it on this website in picture below 👇
Hope that helps

You ripped the plated through copper right out of the board!!! If it is simply a double sided board you have your work cut out for you indeed as you MUST solder both sides of the board to establish connection. You can't simply "Fill the holes with lots of solder", it still won't guarantee connection on the opposite side!! In fact the solder may not even wick down through at all. If it is a multi-layer board (more than double sided) you may as well use it for target practice as you will never be able to properly repair it. One of the worst de-soldering hacks I have seen in a while.

Yeah thats what I will do .
The coper vias came out because my soldering iron is not good . It didn't melt all the solder inside. I added fluks and it helped a bit
But I think the safest way to do it is using a desoldering station
Thanks for your help and time

I didn't. The first topic was on identifying the ic and what it's doing
The second topic is for equivalent
