I have a Synology DS1010+ that won't power on anymore.
So far i have narrowed it down to the power/data extension card for the disc array. When i unplug power to the extension card and remove it from the mainboard the NAS can power on.
There is a component i the middle that is blown, but i'm having trouble identifying the part. It's seems to be kemet part.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

your first photo is a tantalum capacitor, when they fail they can short pretty bad or even explode
a number 107 : would be a 100 micro farad capacitor, i think its an 6 volts max

Yes 100uF 6V tantalum capacitor, but look at CX3 it seems just fried.

Once you have replaced cx3, I would suggest not connecting the disk in slot 3 when you power it up.
The backplane is passive, so it’s possible that the disk/ssd is the root cause of the issue.
If you power up with the other drives only first that will quickly let you know if the drive is good or bad.

Obvious source of fault is tantallum capacitor. They fail short. BTW it's not simply usual tantallum but KO-CAP, LOW ESR conductive polymer tantallum.
