Help identifying a power connector
« on: September 24, 2021, 06:51:21 pm »
Thanks to everyone last time who helped me identify an unknown component.  Now I'm back with a power connector!

It's 10-pin, and by my measurements 26mm wide by 4mm high, 2.5mm conductor pitch (possibly 2.54mm?).  It looks like a molex of some form, but I got lost in the expanse of their offerings.  See the image below.

Edit: it also has "TYU" in tiny letters along the bottom.

Any leads?

Googling TYU connector brings you to Tarng Yu Enterprise's webpage which has a product listing.  For crimp connectors in 2.54mm or 2.5mm I don't see an obvious match, but maybe they're solder connections or whatnot.

Are you trying to replace it?  Need a mating connector?  If it's the latter, a regular old male 2.54mm header would probably do even if it isn't keyed or locking.

With ten pins in a row, you should be able to discern the difference between 2.5 mm pitch (22.5 mm total) and 2.54 mm pitch (22.86 mm total) using a calipers.  It is certainly enough to make mating the wrong connectors an unnatural act.

Good call, it's definitely 2.5mm pitch.

I'm looking for replacement parts both for this connector and the mating connector.

It’s Molex Mini-SPOX or a clone thereof.
