help identifying burnt component

the numbers that are still legible are 56-16. this is on my wind turbine mppt charge controller. what happened is my solar controller is hooked to same battery storage and it suddenly started sending full voltage from solar panels which was 64v on a 24v system. the back feed burnt this component before I could disconnect. this is the only part that look bad so I was hoping replacing it will get it back up and running. 1428532-01428538-1

Probably a transistor.  Measure the leads to see if it looks like one electrically.  I don't imagine it's a high frequency one nor a high voltage one so you could take a chance and replace it with something close.

Silly question, but did you try looking with a magnifying glass? It looks like the first half is burnt, but a number or two is still visible.

Although, a good chance it's a code rather than an actual part number.

In any case, sometimes having just one or two is better than nothing because many on here are well experienced and can solve the mystery easier with something to go by.

I did and that's how I got the 56-16 number. Any numbers preceding is burnt.

Ah okay.

I was assuming you got those numbers by looking without a magnifying glass.

it is also marked Q1 on the board I ordered a bcx56-16 to try

I've no knowledge on 56-16

anyone clarify magic 56-16 ?
