Help Identifying IC
« on: February 28, 2020, 03:54:24 am »
Hi,

The IC is from a Sony XAV-68BT Car Touchscreen Stereo It sits inside the unit right up against the back of the heatsink, I'm not sure if it's a power MOSFET or the amplifier, but it has two holes blown in it and the stereo will not power on just more smoke comes out of the part. I can't identify it because the burns removed some of the markings. Anyone have any ideas? I have attached a picture of the blown IC.

It looks like a STA50013. How many pins does the package have?

https://www.eevblog.com/forum/chat/pure6001h-datasheet/

Note, a TDA7850 should also work, they have the same pinout and according to the datasheet nearly everything is the same except for the quiescent current (one is very slightly higher.)

Edit: found even more pin-compatible amps, see pinout "Y" in this catalog: https://www.st.com/resource/en/selection_guide/sgaudiopow0315.pdf
