Hello!

I would like to repair RC car (Maisto brand). Receiver IC seems drwaing excessive power and can not connect to remote anymore. Unfortunately IC doesnt have markings. It is soic 16 working on 3.3V dc working on 2.4Ghz. U2 on board. Could you give some hints?

Hi,

It looks like a conformal coating has been applied.  This sometimes is opaque enough to obscure the chip markings.  I'd take some isopropyl alcohol (90% or greater) and see if the CC will come off.  You might get lucky.

Regards, Tracy

Some toys manufacturers use their own custom ICs, chances are they won't sell replacement ICs.

Look on the car, or on the remote, (maybe in the user manual, too) for a label with the FCC-ID code.  Search online for that code number, and you might find the schematic diagram on the FCC-ID website.  Not all toys has an FCC-ID.

I can try to clean, but as it looks the same style in remote, they have done it on purpose. Anyway if it is custome part than I give up. I had an idea that that is something pupular than can be bought on LSCS

Tell us the markings on the other ICs. I have studied numerous RC circuits. Maybe something will jog my memory.

This is the FCC ID search URL:
