HILIX DT-830B
« on: May 20, 2017, 09:07:53 am »
Hello; I have a HILIX DT-830B. The latter broke down due to a misuse of its former owner. 2 resistors are burnt and are not identifiable by the color code. Here are the reperes: 12, 16. I looked at the different diagrams on the internet, but they do not correspond with this model, because modifications had to be brought. Can anyone help me to find their respective values ???? Thank you very much!

DT-830B is just a family of various cheap multimeters.
They are built around an ICL7106 chip and will usually contain a few similar "organs" (capacitors and resistors for the ICL7106, voltage divider, current shunt, source for resistance and hfe measurements).
Apart from that the contents and layout can vary a lot and the brand on the cover doesn't mean much.

If you could post some decent photo's we may give you a clue as to what they could be.
Point out which resistors you mean and trace out what else they're connected to.
When we know which "organ" the resistors belong to an educated guess could be made which value to use for a replacement.

You could still try it with a schematic from the internet.
Just ignore the component number and try find out which structure the resistors belong to.

Also important, what functions are not working? And what made it break down?

Hello; Thank you for your answers and your help! I already have this schema, but nothing corresponds to my multimeter, because many versions exist, and modifications have been operated by the Chinese manufacturers. I join the photos that will be more about the resistances of which I do not know their respective values. If someone has exactly the same, that would be the only way to help me out. A big thank you to you!

Could you make it a photo of the whole board on both sides?

Here's a photo of my version of the DT-830B branded "MEANO"--yeah, I never heard of it either. It looks quite different from your version. It might be helpful if you posted a photo of your board that showed the entire board in focus. Good luck.

you should try to make some schematics out of your dmm, that way we could know where the resistors goes,  have you tried some ranges, some functions not working,

Not being rude, ditch the meter and buy a new one ??? there's plenty of them with more functions and capacities for 20$ usd ??? and cheaper than that ...

I think your board is the same as mine.
The resistor under the fuse should be 10K.(connected on board mine reads 2.1k)
