Help releasing header connector

Can anyone tell me how the header connector (circled in yellow in the attached photo) releases the flexi cable?  It's from a Garmin GPS.

I think you lift up the black bit then pull out the flex strip.

In most case, lift the brown part.  In some it hinges.  In all case it is very easy to break it. :(

Colors must render differently on my screen.  To me this looks like connectors where you lift the pale tan or off white section of the header straight away from the board,  it will only move a mm or two.  As mentioned all of these are easy to break, but they often require a moderate amount of force to release.   I find it easier to lift one end at a time.   I also find it easy to damage the flex cable during insertion, so be careful of this step.
