Title: Help SMD identification for newbie

Hi all, Im a newbie, maybe someone can help to identify that SMD
Unfortunatelly that smd has burnt,  the picture was made from another SMD
so I can not measure

The "U" prefix for component designators usually means it's some sort of integrated circuit (as opposed to a single or dual diode / transistor).

I don't suppose you have any idea what the role of this is/was, in the circuit it's in?

the 6 pin smd is placed after 12V input connector and goes to AZ1117C  low dropout three-terminal regulator
