BK Precision 3011B Repair
« on: February 23, 2023, 09:42:33 pm »
Just a quick write up of my repair, this was over several months as DIY was needed to be done.

- R514 & R515 1w resistors were 'toast' - replaced
- Replaced all electrolytics caps
- Replaced Q506, Q507 output stage transistors, dead shorts - explains the toasty resistors..

Then about 3 months passed..

- Did some measuring around, the signals out of the generator circuitry were fine, but around Q501 the signal failed to propagate, nailed to +15v, so replaced it, and the output came back

Things left to do:
- Mhz range doesn't work, completely flat - probably bad connection
- square wave has a slight wiggle, I'll see if I can tune it out
- slightly offset output, I'll see if I can tune out
- sin wave output, looks a little too sharp to my eyes, see if I can tune out

Update:

- Mhz range, the adjustment cap just needed a tweak, works fine now
- everything needed just a little tweak to get into spec. So all good now.
