Hi mangup, I am in the exact same brick situation as you. Mine is SMT750I. I am actually trying to dump the MCU from working unit that I also happen to own. But there is simple catch. MCU chip at least the one that I got is made in two versions low voltage (5V) and which unfortunately happened in my case (12V needed for programming it externally). I am waiting for PLCC44 adapter to put on top. The pins will be reversed like that but still should be able to communicate with that chip. I will wait for quess 2 weeks before all necessary parts arive. And will post a result and dump and instructions so You might recover yours. If it works at the end for me. |

I found what is problem. The problem with my UPS was that I had very bad contacts. I wouldn't even call it a cold solder. some of the chips fell off when touched. So my mcu fell off the main inverter board. as well as some transistors. Luckily everything was there and we managed to get it back. and we re soldered almost everything. UPS work for 5 day, and then just power off itself. No reaction on battery, just on AC power, but can not power. NMC work when UPS in on AC and don't see UPS. So I need, if some have, diagram/schematics of this ups SMT1000i/SMT1500i . Thank You. |

Hi mangup, I had a similar issue with an older (~2009) smt750i. I spent ages trying to find the issue and it turned out a surface mount diode had just fallen off! Maybe APC had some qc issues on these early units? Double check to make sure no small components are missing. The schematics should be similar to the SUA 1000/1500 (I think its titled "red wolf apc") which are on the internet but I doubt you will find the exact schematic for your current model. Other than that I can't really help sorry. Also, AreYouLoco, I might have a backup of the 32k 8051 firmware but im not sure its from the right ID unit. |
