Title: Help with ic chip (HP Probook x360 440G1)
Post by: zabounis on November 15, 2022, 05:49:04 pm
Hi, this is from an HP Probook x360 440 G1 motherboard (L28241-601).
As you can see on the picture, i'm trying to source the specific blown chip. I cannot read whatever is printed on the chip. The only digits visible are: "08" FM. Does anybody have a slight idea what is this chip or an alternative one. Seems like a driver for the above mosfets.

Are you saying that this single chip drives both MOSFETs?

Ι assume yes. There is no other ic driver chip around them, and it is exactly above them. Also i can see a trace from the second mosfet's gate going directly to one of this chip's legs. The other gate of the mosfet dissapears in a via. I will check with the multimeter to see if it also ends up to this chip.

Cheers mate!!!

It seems like this one. i checked that Pin 1 and Pin 5 are the gate driver pins and yes this little guy is driving both mosfets.
