Help with PC motherboard component
« on: March 07, 2021, 04:44:02 pm »
Hi!

Suddenly the motherboard IPM17-DD HP Envy gave up. I pulled the cover, swapped the PSU but to no avail. I then took my thermal imager and found that an ic, next to the ATX power connector, was running hot by more than 100 degrees C. I have two pictures of this IC (3x3 mm) which I have not found on the webb so I would be very thankful if someone know what it is. By chance, do anyone know where to get hold of a schematic for this motherboard?

Thanks in advance

Bjorn

WOW! Thank you so much wraper! How the he... could you find it so fast?!  :o I can clearly see the marking information in the datasheet but I searched all over the webb, with every thinkable option, and with no hits at all!  :-DD

Thank you once again wraper!  :)

Check ceramic capacitors and mosfets and diodes around that chip ... it may gave failed after another component around it failed.

I googled "88 richtek" because it looked like Richtek.
