I can’t find where to solder a component...
« on: March 07, 2021, 09:38:53 am »
I own an Origin EVO 17-s and a 100uf 25v capacitor fell out and I can’t find where it should go. How should I go about finding it’s home? I’ve looked all over for a diagram but I’m unsuccessful. Below are some pictures of the component and the computer it came from. The capacitor says ED(M)105°C (C)18071638 on the other side.

I didn’t realize how small the pictures were. Here they are clearer.

If anywhere, I'd suspect near the charger input.
Good luck.  :-+

You search for review/teardown of your device or similar. Often there's pics of boards.

Comparing two you can find differences.

[edit] So expensive laptop and capacitors that are not properly glued. Shame. :palm:

Does it still work?  If so, are you sure it was ever intended to be attached?  How long had you owned the laptop before it fell out?

I find the legs surprisingly long, it almost looks like this has not been soldered in (and have its legs cut) at all.

Look how it's legs are bent. Also look at picture in URL I posted - it lies flat on the PCB. OP's cap was not glued - that's why it fell off.
