FLIR Rrepair required.
« on: March 01, 2021, 07:51:03 pm »
Can anyone repair my FLIR i7.
I accidentaly plugged the wrong charger in and seem to have blown the charger circuit.
Everything works fine besides it wont charge the battery.
I contacted Fraser on here who has been very helpful and he kindly explained this fault.

"You have damaged the power management IC that sits between the external power input, battery and camera electronics. The TVS input protection diode is also likely to have been activated. This is a relatively common occupancy on these cameras. The repair requires hot air reworking due to the power management IC’s case format and it is not a simple task due to the small size of the IC. The good news is that the IC is commonly available and not expensive."

If anyone can repair this for me then please get in touch,
thanks Richie...

If noone responds you could contact TheCod3r on YouTube. He's from England and has the proper equipment and knowledge to do this for you. And we all could get a cool video out of it. (AFAIK he has a company that does customer repair so it shouldn't be shady corner type repair).
