Anritsu S331A display repair

Dear all,

I could get my hands on a used Anritsu S331A analyzer with broken (cracked) display for some bucks. "Official replacements" for the Hyundai HD16501NG-EW are avail. in China. I was wondering whether it was possible to replace it with something a bit cheaper (they cost around 100...120 Eur).

The main controller is a Toshiba T6963C and I have already figured out the pinning of the 20-pin connector going to the main board:

1+2: GND
3: +5V
4: -5V
5:
6: nWR
7: nRD
8: nCE
9: C/O
10: nHALT
11: nRESET
12..19 D0..D7
20: nc
