HP 34401A Multimeter blowing fuses
« on: November 28, 2018, 10:05:36 am »
I've got a hp 34401a that keeps blowing the power line fuse, there's no visibly bad components. I'm not sure where to start, any help would be appreciated  :)

First make sure the power selector is set to your countries voltage and the right fuse is selected.
People have bought a 34401A in the USA with 120V setting and plugged it in to European 230V and the fuse broke right away.

Second, unplug the transformer cable to the PCB and hook the power up.
If the fuse still breaks, most likely your transformer is bad.

Yes, get a new transformer installed and your 34401A should work again.

You can order a new transformer from Keysight or use one from ebay.
