I have a 3458A which starts up with error message"RAM TEST 1 HIGH".
I have tried replacing the battery backed up ram on a different unit for the same error. I did not get it to work. Have any of you be able to repair tis problem?
Plenty of people replaced the NVRAMs successfully.
This error is related to one of the 32kx8 RAMs, and the instrument should continue working after that message, but forget only all settings and programs..
The question is, which RAMs you changed on that other unit - the CAL RAM 2kx8 only, or the other two 32kx8 also?
