HP 3478A DMM LCD lighting

Has any one tried to add a back light (or edge light) to one of these? I love the meter but is really hard to see.

I searched the forum and didn't see anything.

The 3457A and a few other models of the era share the same LCD.

For my 3478A, I opted for an IKEA clamping gooseneck LED spotlight instead.
