HP 3490A Fixed

Hi,
I recently fixed up my old HP 3490a multimeter after spending a few months of trouble shooting.  So here's a word of advice for others.  Check that every dip chip is fully seated in the socket!  I have spent countless hours of effort on trying to get my meter to work only to find out that it was just a dip package flapping in the breeze.  Also if you haveg a HP 3490 make sure to not touch any of the AC side you'll mess it up.  Oh well, time to calibrate it.  :-/O

It is easy to overlook something simple.
The good thing is, you repaired it successfully and learned from it.
I have been really enjoying the repair of many instruments over the last few years.
And have spent countless hours, doing so.
