HP 3561a Signal Analyzer Display Troubleshooting Solved
« on: March 30, 2016, 12:47:38 pm »
I have my HP3561a on the bench because of a Test error and just wondered if anyone else has experienced this issue.

When I power on the unit the self test returns Error # 07  28   Ram: G
In the Service Manual this comes up as Display memory error in NMOS 16K dynamic ram module, G position.

Is this the only module I should be concerned with or will there be more problems,

Looks like a classic example of video ram problems, it could be a stuck address/data line but most probably just the ram chip.
Keyboard error: Press F1 to continue.

OK, Solved Post.

I exchanged Ram board with one from another of my 3561A units.
Everything back to normal on the display.

Now I have another question which I will post in a new thread.
Thanks
