PeakTech 4120 generator failure
« on: October 26, 2023, 09:06:04 pm »
Hi to all,
In the university where I teach, we have a PeakTech 4120 that is failing to properly startup.
It is a chinese product that probably sells under other brands. I have seen a two channel model rebadged as Tektronix
Does any one of you have any technical information or clue about this device ?
Thank you in advance

could be his one ?

In their 1000 series

AFG1062

must be similar to the AFG1022 series ??   but tek on their site have multiples warnings of  not messing with the wrong model ???   do not flash on 1062  etc ...

Anything can be done under the hood,  change the front panels pcb ...  remove some buttons etc ....  rebrand it and voila ?

can you open the case and show us any pcb markings

with free registration   you have acces to their FW   but no 5 Mhz model as far as i know

downloaded their 1022 fw

It's not a tek, it's a Owon, likely "inspired" by the tek design.

Although it was almost never used, the instrument is about two and half years old, so no warranty
I opened it, and it is not very service friendly.
You have to dismantle it almost completely to gain access to the board.
