HP 4540s 3 blinks
« on: October 03, 2016, 08:17:50 pm »
Hi everyone!
I have a problem with my HP 4540s.
The problem is, that pc blinks 3 times and in a second or two again 3 times than fan spins full speed for a day if I like...
I changed memory with the one I know that's works, and it's the same.. I also cleaned memory slot but didn't help..

So, what can I try next?

It's not coming out of reset, the power/thermal management is running the fan full speed and will continue to do so until the main CPU takes over.

So, you've tried the memory, does the original memory work in another machine?

Have you looked up what three blinks means?

Is the LED near the power socket solid or is that blinking?

Have you reseated the processor, can you swap it out for a known good one?

have you tried re-setting the device, this can be done by removing the power from the wall and taking the battery out, then press and hold the power button for 15 seconds or more. after this replace the wall power but not the battery and then turn the device back on.
if this does not change the status of the fault i would also try turning it on with no memory in it at all and see if it out puts a different fault code.
