Hi Folks,
I have a faulty HP 54815A boot problem....
The AMI BIOS boot sequence stops at:
CMOS Settings Wrong
CMOS Display Type Wrong
Keyboard error
Press F1 to Run setup
Press F2 to load default values and continue
It also was reporting a battery problem, but I resolve 3.3v external CR2032 on the Dallas Realtime clock.
I also tried to reset the CMOS using the motherboard jumpers.
So now I reckon it needs to load default values with F2
But here is where I become unstuck!
I don't have an IBM AT type keyboard!!! yikes!
Wonder if I can I wire a USB keyboard to the Clock and data lines of the AT keyboard socket?
Also, I checked the AT keyboard socket has +5v but I also noticed one of the data lines was also at +5v, this seems odd.
I suspect this might why I'm seeing the Keyboard error on boot screen, wonder if the Motherboard has an I/O fault?
any advice welcome...
Thanks in advance
