HP 6177C DC Current Source Repair and Restoration (COMPLETE)

nice this mod actually works, I can set it to the closest 100nA pretty easily. I think the pot needs replacing but it does work on 250uA for 81 model :-+
I see the meter misbehave when I adjust it on all ranges. There is a bit of noise too, I need to do test with coaxial cable, closed enclosure, cleaned PCB (its totally dirty because I am waiting for more resistors and caps to replace everything) and replaced potentiometer.

Hmm I replaced all but 3 of the carbon resistors, and all the electrolytics. Now it looks like the adjustment of the potentiometer is smooth. Maybe its fine and the problem was elsewhere. ???

Glad it works for you.
coppercone2:
yeah I am waiting for a metal foil to replace the 1/4 watt rando resistor I put in there

totally silent after I replaced the 3 50nF disks with 50nF foils on the rectifier PCB :)
