HP 6289 Only Goes to 24V Need Legible Schematic
« on: December 23, 2022, 05:26:55 am »
I have an HP 6289 that I fished out of the trash. Turns on but the max voltage I can get out of it is 24v. I know these are cheap enough that I shouldn't really bother with it but I want to fix it for the exercise of it.
I did run through the troubleshooting chart.
On table 5-4
Step 1 No change
Step 2 0.042V - No short on R10,C1/c2
Step 3 2.7V normal range
Step 4 .02v
Step 5 and the voltage is -3.4 Counting TP 20- 23+ but R34 is good and so is Q4

The scanned Schematic on Keysight's website is a joke it's so blurred. Does anyone have a copy of the service manual and is willing to take a better scan of the schematic. https://www.keysight.com/us/en/assets/9018-03060/user-manuals/9018-03060.pdf

Use the HP 6255A manual, it a dual channel version of the 6289A, just two of them stuck together in the same case, schematic attached to post #11.

Artek has the manual, the manuals here are usually much clearer than others I have tried.
Especially the Schematics.
