HP 70900A local oscillator
« on: May 06, 2020, 10:57:40 am »
Good morning. Was wondering if anyone here has attempted to replace the battery in a HP 70900A. I have a unit that is reporting a "2049 battery" error.

Thanks all.

I have 70900B, not the "A" version. The Service Manual (page 273) says that the battery is in the A1A2 RAM/ROM assembly of the A1A2 Host Processor Assembly, with details on how to remove that assembly. See the manual here https://www.keysight.com/main/techSupport.jspx?cc=ES&lc=eng&nid=-536900197.536900434&pid=70900A%3Aepsg%3Apro&pageMode=OV.

It does not look difficult.
