you do have rare usb floppies who do 720k ... it's a matter of finding them ... |

my Tektronix 370A also accepting 720k disks only, but also 1.44M disk with a piece of tape on the marking hole at the back of the disk (NOT the hole for write protection) are working. |

Following up on KE5FX's advice I received my GPIB-USB-HS adapter a few days ago, gave the VNA's GPIB port a good IPA swab, and got it to work first go! The adapter I purchased is a newer Chinese knock-off I found on AliExpress. KE5FX's VNA Utility (for Windows) works perfectly for retrieving touchstone files as does the 7470 emulator for retrieving plots. Worth mentioning that as per KE5FX's FAQ, this newer adapter only works with the 7470 emulator if I select GPIB->No assigned plotter address (listen only), which I made default in the INI file. Ignoring this causes causes the adapter to lock up on the second acquisition, requiring a power cycle. I also found this Python script that is rather snappy at saving HPGL plots. HPGLVIEW from CERN mentioned in the link works well to view the files. |

Usually formatting is blind. Have you checked what first sector of VNA formatted disk contains? The drive can still write even if it can't read. |

In addition to saving S-parameters, are you also able to save and restore 8753 instrument+cal states with this adapter? |
