Yah, now you got all nuts attention around, to throw cash at the monitor...

I would be interested in seeing guts of this special option box, but not enough to pay 2k+ for likely.

They've been trying to sell that for some time - I remember looking at it a couple of weeks before I found my 3458A at Western Digital facility closing auction.

I just didn't get a good feel on the unit (can't remember the price though) - I guess desire for these things comes in waves (he says while waiting for FedEx to deliver another 8902A...)

Well, some reseller seem to get it.
Unlikely that we will see tear-down of this box here :(

If they use the "no questions, complete refurb repair" option then they paid for around $4600 for a calibrated, manufacturer repaired unit - I guess that isn't too bad, 50% discount off list.
