Huawei Mate X Pro 2020 Voltage regulator blew
« on: September 27, 2023, 06:30:51 pm »
Hi there,

I have a Huawei Mate X Pro 2020 that has stopped working. When I opened it up, I saw that one of the voltage regulators absolutely desintegrated. However, looking around the same area of the board, I found another regulator with a similar marking and footprint. However, googling it I couldn't get to the same part.

Here is a picture:

I came across some other components on aliexpress but aren't MPMJ, they are MPxx (example https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/4001037315185.html?gatewayAdapt=glo2bra). Also got to a Monolithic Power Systems part, but their markings have MPS on the first line, so I don't know if that is the correct part. However, the footprint is very similar (https://www.monolithicpower.com/en/documentview/productdocument/index/version/2/document_type/Datasheet/lang/en/sku/MP86945A/).

If anyone can help me identify this part, I-d be very appreciated. Hopefully, replacing this regulator will return the laptop to life.
