Bought an Icom IC-R7100 VHF/UHF radio recently, would not hold memories when powered off. Got ahold of the repair/alignment manual on line. Changing the batteries was definitely a challenge as you have to carefully disassemble and separate the two main halves of the radio. Once opened you'll see the two CR2032 batts (see pic) under the plastic shield. One's for the memories, one's for the clock.
The batteries were dead as a doorknob. Wouldn't be surprised if they were the originals. While at it am doing a complete realignment, so far only slight adjustments are needed. This radio was on my want list ever since it came out. If you have one please let me know how you like it and any experiences you've had with it good or bad.
