IFR 2975 NO DISPLAY/VIDEO

Hello,

Just bought a 2975 knowing there was a display issue.  When powered on, the backlight comes on, but nothing is displayed and nothing beeps, but the leds inside the unit light up, and it looks like the PS leds are all on.  I can't tell if it's booting, or attempting to boot, though based on the lack of beeping, I don't think it is actually booting.  I connected the unit to an external VGA monitor, and while the monitor acts like it is getting a signal, nothing is displayed on the external monitor either.  Can anyone suggest some first steps to figure out what is going on and to diagnose this thing?  Any help is greatly appreciated.
