iMac G3 slot loader speaker replacement

Hey all

I've got an old iMac G3 (the transparent blue all in one) and it couldn't handle my 90s techno music at full volume... the rotting foam around the speakers fell apart.

Has anyone replaced the speakers or the foam around it? What's the recommendation?

From a quick search it looks like 28mm / 1 inch drivers at 3W? There's so many variants I would like to find one that I can fit with the least amount of hacking (or just the foam rings if that's easier)

I followed this guide

and managed to replace the speakers. I used speaker glue and packing peanuts to secure the new (thinner) speakers in place.

The new speakers don't sound as good as the old ones, but still decent for 10 bucks shipping included Aliexpress speakers and better than broken ones anyway.
