Incorrect Tektronic 7623A voltage
« on: April 26, 2023, 10:02:15 am »
Hello everyone, I introduce myself: I'm Rento, electrical engineer passionate about electronics, I'm Italian and I don't know English well. I immediately apologize if with the google translator I could not explain or understand you well, I could ask you twice for the things I didn't understand, have mercy and patience. First time in a forum I hope I'm not too wrong.

Help I have a problem with the repair of a Tektronix 7623A, they gave it to me, it worked fine even if it had problems on the horizontal, then one day a strange shape appeared at 45° as Sean0118 said in his discussion.
The facts: it had all the voltages ok except -15V (-11.2), I made some measurements and checks but nothing strange. I was following the discussion of Sean0118 and co, very useful, but at one point the tragedy! I took out P901 to section a board but now all voltages are busted.  |O

Voltages before were PP901 (starting in pin order) -53 -19 0 +18 +53 130 40 now I'm -72.9 -17.5 13.1 25.3 96.9 -15.9
On the board connector horizontal and vertical voltages from +50 +15 +5 gnd -15 -50 now I'm +26.9 23.4 +5 gnd -11.2 -50. Also detaching P980 to vote I read 130 -> 98.5 +40 -> -14.6 +53 I don't remember, but no
-53 -> -73.8. First question what triggered all this, just by unplugging a connector? After the first heart attack now I found Q926 shorted. Now I ask you for help, what do you suggest to do, how to proceed? I would like to check A11 rectifierd board, but it scares me a bit to disassemble everything, I don't have a clear idea of how to do it. Suggestions are accepted. Sorru if as a first post I made some mistakes, I will learn. thank you very much.
