I see this often in a lot A/V units, most of the time it because the repair tech cannot get the same physical size cap for the location on the board or the original part was too under spec and the board space does not allow for a larger part (lot of old jap pioneers are like this)
i would look around the boards for a missing cap , it is most likely for there. take your time and look close at the solder side of the pcb as you might see the two points it was attached. The voltage of the cap also will define where its located , so lower 16v caps would be in audio filters but higher 50v spec would be in output stage or power supply.
it's one of those job that you are going to have to look close at the pcb, pictures might help us but you have the board and can tilt, move and illuminate to best see the solder points.
