Inop fluke 189.
« on: November 03, 2022, 02:48:17 am »
A friend gave me this today after hearing me talk about some power issues. Said it didn't work but that i might be able too fix it and if so i could have it.  I saw some manuals and instructions on troubleshooting elsewhere on the forum... ill start that tomorrow.. first things first i just wanted to post some pictures out here to see if someone more knowledgeable can immediately find something not worth my time.  I only see one burned/damaged component  which i have posted pictures of.

Can you post some closeups of the suspected area?;
 as these wide angle photos don't give enough detail :popcorn:

Sorry I havent had time to do anything on the forum. The transformer (or inductor?) whatever it is that looks brown was not an issue. I pulled the supercap out and cleaned the battery terminals and it started right up.
