YIHUA 938BD+ Is the mainboard OK?
« on: August 25, 2018, 08:00:11 pm »
Hello everyone,

not sure if this is the right subforum or "Other Equipment & Products" would be better – feel free to move it.

A couple days ago, I’ve got an "YIHUA 938BD+" soldering station (picture below). The package came a without any duct tape and practically accessible to anybody. I check the accessories and just to be sure opened even the machine, since there was no sealing sticker present.

There is a mainboard marked "YH-NZLT2-V1.0" (picture below). Beside the terrible job of soldering and other things, I found a resistor place R18 to be bridged with solder (without any resistor) (marked on picture) and scratches on the board that obviously cuts a couple of lines on the board (marked on picture). These things made me worried and stopped me from powering it up.

I need help from someone who have this "YIHUA 938BD+" soldering station and can confirm to me that those things are ok and should be there. Otherwise I will return this station back to the seller immediately. Unfortunately, I didn’t find any service manual on the internet.

Thanks anyone for help :)

2 cents..  I have seen some youtubers posting reviews of this tweezers
some older versions and stuff...

Some of them can not even tolerate the heat and break apart upon using

First time i am seeing a 100% crappy board like this.

Considering the operational current and heat of the tool....
That thing  deserves to be delivered back to origin

Not suitable for use. Don't even bother wasting time on it.

100% garbage.

I would take it apart and try to use what is possible as dummy parts....
just to avoid ditching toilette flush raged

Looks like factory rework to me, I wouldn't find it concerning personally. Not done professionally, sure, but this *is* a budget unit.

So, to close this topic - I put the thing together again and yes, it WORKS.

Sure, the soldering inside is wacky - its all by hand and the board is scratched here and there. I tested the memory buttons and heating and everything seems to be OK.
So, the answer for anyone who would seek the same answer is: The board should look bad, scratched and bridged with solder, it will work just fine.

Thanks everyone for suggestions.
