Kenwood KA-78 stereo amplifier repair
« on: November 13, 2014, 11:53:24 am »
Hi everyone,

Just recently, my Kenwood KA-78 stereo amplifer stopped working. The relay, K1 is making a clicking noise but nothing else is happening with the device. K1 is located on the high voltage board. I'm completely stuck. Would anyone have any idea? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Need a much better problem description that this. Does it click once when you press the power button? Click repeatedly only when you press the button? Does the display (if it has one) light up? Have you made any measurements, voltage checks, etc?

Does it power up properly? Find a schematic for it and start by checking all your power supply voltages.
Do the job right the first time.  Quality over quantity will save you in the long run.
