Is it no harm to extend earth wire of CRT TV?
« on: June 05, 2024, 04:02:56 pm »
I want to extend earth wire of CRT TV which is shown in the orange circle of below screenshot.Because short earth wire always get in the way of measuring voltage beneath the PCB.

So In order to ease measuring voltage beneath the PCB, I 'll cut earth wire in two wire and soldering each of them to a long wire which has specification of "60227-3 300/500V 60227 KS IEC 06 H05-V-K 75mm^2 SANG JIN 2024 RoHS/LF CE 70℃"
By the way,Is it no harm to extend earth wire of CRT TV?

No problem with that, insulate the link so it isn't floating around creating shorts once it's back in normal position.
Forgetting to connect the ground tabs to the CRT braid can have disastrous effects on the electronics.
