Is there solder holder to be over a station iron handle
« on: January 26, 2023, 12:15:56 am »
Any solder holder (just like one at an iron gun product) to hold the solder roll being able to be mounted over a plain station iron handle ?

or one has made it up successfully innovatively ?

I highly doubt it since most people feed the solder with their other hand while soldering. Plus the bulk and weight of a solder roll added to the iron would be really annoying and inconvenient.

Weller have (had?) an automatic solder feeder for production line use, however the heavy roll of solder is not mounted on top of the solder pen as that would indeed be pretty annoying. Instead the solder is mounted in the base and presumably uses something like a mig welder (or FDM printer, if you prefer) style feeder system. To be honest, it still looks rather unwieldy.
