JBC resistor ID for md-2960
« on: December 12, 2024, 12:46:50 am »
Hey guys, recently I acquired the MD-2960 soldering station without the handle. It's supposed to come with the DR-3600 micro desoldering gun, i couldn't source that part but was able to source the dr-5600. but it kept saying "WRONG TOOL", I'm pretty sure this is due to the resistor ID in the connector, both are rated to 75w, so I'm pretty sure both are 24v models not the 48v high power model (150w-200w) iron. does anyone know the value resistor I should replace it? I looked around and couldn't find any information

this is the manual for the station:

and for the iron that i have is the DR-5600

Since it has a screen, can you just try a 500k pot and check various values?

They usually use stuff around 10-100k afaik, or shorted/open.
