JBL MPX1200 repair due to stupidity. Have a look at this wiring.

Just looking at a JBL mpx1200. Well this is how the plug was wired up. Not had a proper think about this yet to think if it would damage the unit or check even if it still works. This is the second plug wired wrong this week. The last one had live connected to the earth pin.

 If you earth the board on the other side you safe solder . It is called spot welding then

Looks like it was wired up by somebody who had as the only tool to do it a single dull edged kitchen knife.  Hacked the insulation on both sleeving and the inner cores, and it looks like they chewed on the wiring as well.

Ugh, used to get those all the time, first job, always, when something has a rewireable plug was to check the the wiring of it and then fit a new plug if it wasn't shrouded
