Hi,

Why did you unhook that chip?
What was the breakdown?

If the iron was no longer working, it comes to 99% of the diode zener 5v on this PCB
Then replace with a classic zener other than SMD

I fixed the iron by changing the bta transistor, the heater doesn't work so I tested the components that I changed and it was all shorted again when I tried the heater so when I removed the chip all the shorts where gone

Perhabs a S3F94C8 mcu, seems common in Hot Air stations.

It's a mcu, so replacing it won't make it work, must be programmed, I doubt you could do that easily, nor getting the original firmware.

At this point, just get a new station, or try to find a new board.

Hello,

I don’t quite understand your breakdown.
You say a short circuit, but on what?
Is it on the mains? Is it all blown up and the fuse?
I don’t see this circuit blowing the power.
When you say the iron worked and not the hot air, was there the temperature indication of the soldering iron?

Etc...
