Right alongside a row of pristine looking Rifas, now there's irony! :D

Datrons do seem to eat Tant beads, particularly after storage. Their PCB lead spacing isn't ideal - lead stress during hand assembly cracks their encapsulation and allows moisture in.

Not just high-end...

A 3.5 digit 4.5 digit 5 digit 5.5 digit 6.5 digit 7.5 digit DMM is good enough for most people.

I'm currently in the process of a full recapping on my Datron 4000A as well. In a view days from now my replacement list will be complete and I can then share it here. I replace almost all of the tantalum caps by proper electrolytics except for two caps: a 100nF/35V and a 470nF/35V.
