I have a Keithley 2001 DMM that has been dropped during transit after getting it calibrated and now the unit will not complete the boot up cycle. There is fan spin on the rear of the unit so the power supply seems to work but nothing on the display. After a quick peak inside nothing seems out of place or even busted. Any tips on what components are susceptible to hard drops or where to check first would be appreciated(Already checked and reseated all cable connections).

Any component whos physically big or massive could create problems, cracks in pcb ? connectors broken or have loosen up ?

99.9% sure display glass is broken.

Most of the damage appears to be on the rear. The aluminum frame is very warped on the back but thanks, I will check the display next.

The display was indeed definitely damaged! Thanks again!

Oh damn

Do you suppose I can use a display from a Keithley 2000? The part numbers slightly differ from each other and Keithley will not sell me a new one.

The Keithley 2000 vfd is completely different (1 row only). The Keithley 7001 vfd is the ideal donor candidate.

 Beware two different types too... (https://xdevs.com/fix/kei_dd51/)
