Looks like I'm having trouble finding them (I'm in Europe), specifically in the 1/4W power rating. 1/2W seems much easier to find.
This is for Sony '80s - '90s equipment repair.
Any suggestions?

You can use thru hole pico fuses,  you have some auto reset ones  and other  physically similar to a resistor  but its a fuse,    green colored or yellow colored

What value resistor do you need?

Mouser should have pico fuses as does my local store.      I was supposed to be starting on a Portugal Viking river cruise when the crap started. could have been stranded at airports or something if the timing was different . Dodged a bullet.
I'll be sure to bring a ham rig from now on if stuck somewhere for fun.

Currently I need a pair of 100 Ohm and a 2.2 Ohm. So "pico fuse"... I'll look into that. Many thanks to all!

Viking River :D It's probably on the Douro River up north, a beautiful mountainous place cutting Portugal east-west from Spain to the sea. Homeland of the OPorto Wine.

thanks nuno I look forward to touring your country. Just wish wife and Viking could delay it till things are safe. Know any hams in your area?

Sorry, don't know of any hams, I'm not into "haming". But there are other users from Portugal here, I think I saw someone commenting on radio stuff some time ago, but I can't remember any details anymore.

Here it all started up north, but it is quite calm there now. Currently, more than 90% of new cases (currently less than 300/day) are poping up in the Lisbon area (center - south), usually in clusters (like factories), average daily deaths are at ~2 for the past week or so.

Mouser still has 82 Ohms as 1/4 W, but that's about it in 250 mW, at least from Germany.

I bought some thermal fuses, I'll make some experiments of thermal coupling a normal 1/4W resistor to a thermal fuse, electrically connected in series.

In Australia I buy fusible resistors from WES Components (Wagner Electronics). They supply to the audio/video/TV repair trade. Perhaps there is a similar supplier in Europe?

How about Dönberg Electronics (Ireland)?
