Sony-reader DPT-RP1: Ghosting
« on: November 06, 2024, 04:27:38 pm »
Hello,

I am owning and using a Sony DPT-RP1 13,3"-reader for several year, daily usage. Since some months the display shows the effect of "ghosting" - when opening / going to a new page the previous pages are still visible as "background-shadow", like a "ghost"picture of the previous pages, In darker and lighter colour. When changing a page the display is not erased to a "white" background and the background is no longer "white" (as it was in the past) but something as grey. When zooming into the page the "ghosting"-effect is less, but after "Exit" the zoom "ghosting" comes back.
Does anybody has an idea, what is the reason for this and how I can "repair" the device? I have already disassembled the device and remove/reinserted the connectors of the display, but w/o success. The battery-voltage is o.k. (charged around 4,1V).
